A study recently published in the United States to replace saturated fats in food more healthy alternatives may reduce the risk of heart disease by 20 percent.

The BBC News website that the conclusions of the study conducted by the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University adds to existing evidence indicating the health benefits of fat intake polyunsaturated polyunsaturates found in some fish and vegetable oils.

The research team analyzed the Harvard findings of eight earlier studies included more than 13 thousand people.

Experts say that limit the intake of saturated fats found in meat and butter is only one part of a healthy diet.

The doctors recommend that saturated fats should not constitute more than 11 per cent of adults need for energy, and the reason is that this type of fat raises cholesterol levels «bad» in the blood. It is known that high cholesterol rates narrows the arteries of the heart. The polyunsaturated fats it may adversely affect, as it raises cholesterol «good» in the blood.
